Year-round warm weather has created an inviting atmosphere for this quiet little town from its early beginnings. Settled in 1825 as a summer retreat for wealthy planters from afar, but was destroyed in 1863 as Union forces swept through the area A long period of non-growth followed and in the late 1880s, Bluffton began a slow rebuilding.

It was around the time of the Great Depression that Bluffton became a vacation spot. It is now one of the fastest growing towns in the state and offers a variety of beautiful homes, old and new, lots, and land for sale from moderate pricing to high-end.
