If security is important to you, you won't be disappointed with the services provided by this prestigious gated community. The complex employs more than 20 full-time security offers, and many of these employees have backgrounds in law enforcement or the military. Upon entering Hilton Head Plantation, residents will find that there are two gates. The Main Gate is situated off of Highway 278 while Cypress Gate can be found on Gumtree Road. Twice a day, security patrols the community to ensure the safety and comfort of guests.

Athletics

While Hilton Head Plantation has plenty of sports recreation facilities including tennis, swimming, and boating amenities, when it comes to golf, this community really shines. There are four 18-hole courses within the region:

  • Country Club of Hilton Head
  • Oyster Reef Golf Course
  • Bear Creek Golf Club
  • Dolphin Head Golf Club

Rees Jones designed both Bear Creek and Oyster Reef while Gary Planer and Ron Kirby partnered up to design Dolphin Head. The Country Club of Hilton Head is the newest addition region and has already qualified for the U.S. Open twice.

For the tennis lover, there are 12 Har-True courts at Spring Lake Racquet Club, two of which are lighted.

There are two nature conservancies, seven miles of nature and leisure trails, and two miles of beach at Dolphin Head on Port Royal Sound.

Spring Lake Recreation Center offers the Spring Lake Pavilion and a 25-meter community pool. The main Clubhouse offers a heated indoor pool as well as a lovely dining room, exercise facility, and pro shop.
