Hilton Head Real Estate: A Better Place to Be

If you are looking for a beautiful home or villa within an ideal setting surrounded by nature’s beauty and bounty, you need look no further than Hilton Head Island.  Hilton Head Island homes and villas for sale are situated in a variety of settings with myriad views—ocean, marsh, deepwater creek, golf and wooded.  Most are within gated communities which offer upscale amenities and 24/7 security.

These gated communities dot the island from the southeastern tip of Sea Pines Resort to the northernmost community of Windmill Harbour.  There are two large oceanfront Resorts, Sea Pines and Palmetto Dunes, with each offering luxury oceanfront homes and villas as well as luxury inland properties; Port Royal Plantation is located mid-island and offers lovely oceanfront homes and Folly Field is one of the island’s most unique oceanfront and ungated communities offering oceanfront homes and villas.  Shipyard Plantation, on the island’s south end offers homes and villas, all of which are within walking distance of the beach.  Wexford Plantation and Long Cove Club, also on the island’s south end, are waterfront communities with high-end amenities including yachting and golfing.  Hilton Head Plantation, which offers lovely waterfront properties, Palmetto Hall and Indigo Run, all located on the north end of the island, and are residential communities replete with clubhouse and golf amenities. Forest Beach, comprised of North Forest Beach and South Forest Beach, is a popular destination for generations of beach lovers and offers beautiful oceanfront homes and villas.

Each community has its own style and its own amenities.  Some are small while others are quite large.  Getting to know the island and its real estate is a fantastic experience.  You know you are home once you cross the bridge.  Most of us can recall the vibrant illustrations from childhood fairy tales in which all paths that were traversed seemed to have a bridge.  The bridge served as a conduit for safe passage to a better place, and this better place was nearly always represented by blue water, blooming flowers, songbirds and butterflies. Wait!  That’s Hilton Head Island!  Whoever said fairy tales don’t come true?
