For those who enjoy the various types of art there are plenty of opportunities on Hilton Head Island at any given time. For instance, tonite the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra will performGloria! from 8 to 10 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on William Hilton Parkway. There will be a pre-concert talk by Maestro Russell at 7 p.m. and a reception will follow the performance in the church’s Gathering Space.

Music Director and Conductor John Morris Russell will lead the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra in two ebullient settings of the “Gloria” — the first by Vivaldi and the second by Poulenc — and two of Verdi’s most cherished operatic overtures, those from “La Forza del Destino” and “La Traviata”. The orchestra will be joined by the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Chorus under the direction of Chorus Master Tim Reynolds in the performance at Hilton Head’s First Presbyterian Church. Concert tickets are $25, $40, and $50. Reduced prices are available for children and their accompanying parent. Call the Hilton Head Symphony office at (843) 842-2055 to purchase tickets.
