6 Top Reasons Why Retirees Prefer Living on Hilton Head Island

Posted by Bill True on Wednesday, February 5th, 2014 at 4:37pm.

If you were to survey people that live on Hilton Head Island you’d likely find that a very large percentage of them relocated here after they retired. The majority of those people vacationed here with their families many times throughout the years. It’s during those years that they discovered why Hilton Head Island was the place they wanted to spend their retirement years and following are the top reasons in no particular order.

1. Listed as one of the world’s best golf resorts, Hilton Head Island attracts retirees from around the world with its more than 25 championship golf courses.

2. The 12 miles of sandy beachfront is a big reason why many retirees come here to retire. From its calming presence to a venue to regularly exercise on, the beach is just good for the soul.

3. Unlimited water sports area available when you live right on the ocean. From fishing to sailing, jet skiing to paragliding, and kayaking and canoeing at a leisurely pace.

4. The Ocean salt water is very therapeutic and living by it promises retirees better health. For many retirees, this is the first time they’ve ever been able to relax.

5. Captivatingly long and wide panoramic ocean views providing sensational outdoor entertaining and social gatherings of any size.

6. Temperate weather with mild winters and tropical summers await.

Actually, the list could go on and on because the more people we talk to the more reasons we’re given that people chose to relocate here. We live here so we now how special it is. Surely the plentiful real estate and affordable prices is what sealed the deal for many of these retirees. Considering the many maintenance free Hilton Head condos for sale, it’s not too hard to see why they’re appealing to people that have spent their entire adulthood caring for their own property and all that entailed. By the time people reach retirement age they’ve earned the right to stop working if they so choose to, and that includes all the work the property they’ve been living in has involved.
