Foreclosures in Forest Beach have been sporadic over the past several months, though they sell very quickly. Originally settled in the 1950s as the first of the Island’s seasonal occupations by those wishing to escape the brutal Northern winters, Forest Beach (that is, North Forest Beach and South Forest Beach) continues to be a favorite neighborhood for Islanders. It is a non-gated community featuring small bungalows, large oceanfront mansions and villas, primarily for short-term rental investment.
Forest Beach has one main road, Forest Beach Drive, with north and south designations, which runs parallel to the beach. Fingering off this road are single-lane streets. Known for its high short-term rental incomes, Forest Beach homes are large and well-maintained, many with private pools and other high-end amenities.
