Sea Pines Resort Prepares for 2015 Heritage

Posted by Bill True on Thursday, March 26th, 2015 at 5:39pm.

Hilton Head Island is recognized, revered and loved for many things, including 12 miles of beautiful beaches, luxury homes and villas within private, gated communities, great weather, spectacular fishing, friendly residents, and vacations of a lifetime. Golf, however, is one of our most venerated attributes. With winter on its heels and spring in full swing, Sea Pines Resort is gearing up for its annual Heritage golf tournament.
With PGA-player designed oceanfront courses, courses that meander along the sounds, creeks, tidal marshes and pristine lagoons, as well as manicured fairways that wind through stands of centuries-old live oaks, Hilton Head stands apart from and above the rest. Right now, preparations are underway for the 47th Heritage Golf Tournament to be held in Sea Pines Resort on the renowned Harbour Town Golf Links, named one of the top 20 courses in the country by Golf Digest and Golfweek. A favorite among PGA tour players, Harbour Town is one of three premiere courses in the famed resort. Just completed and not to be missed is the brand new three-story Harbour Town Clubhouse. Immediately following this year’s tournament, Harbour Town Golf Links will close for the summer for re-grassing and the installation of a state-of-the-art irrigation system.
Players of all levels enjoy play on the Ocean Course, a classic design featuring strategically placed lagoons and bunkers. At 6,906 yards, the Ocean Course will have a redesign by Davis Love III and his brother, Mark. The course will close for play in October and reopen in September 2016. A total renovation of the layout will take place.
Heron Point reopened for play in September following completed enhancements by Pete Dye. The green surrounds and contours were softened, greens were enlarged and landscape improvements and additions were put into place.
With all of the recent construction (Plantation Clubhouse, the oceanfront Beach Club and Harbour Town Clubhouse), general renovation of the resort itself, course improvements and with more to commence in the coming months, Sea Pines Resort has renewed its commitment to golfing excellence and to an overall excellence in the resort experience. Such can only add to the enjoyment of the resort overall—increasing property interest (and property values) is a byproduct of this commitment.
See for yourself. New construction is booming and existing home and villa sales are robust. Fall in love again with the Island’s premier resort. Discover your paradise and make the escape of a lifetime; enjoy time together with family and entertaining guests in a new Sea Pines home or villa that will certainly accommodate your needs and your lifestyle, both present and future.
