‘Short sales/foreclosures and REO property on Hilton Head’ have been the hot keywords on BillTrue.com for some time now, and several of my recent closings have involved the sale of such distressed properties. As a Realtor, a business owner, a homeowner, an investment property owner and a long-time Islander, I see new trends emerging as a result of the sell-off. 

Often, short sales/foreclosures and REO properties are in disrepair, as the owner just didn’t have the funds to divert to routine maintenance and upkeep. The new owner, however, is eager to renovate, restore and refurbish, thereby increasing the value of the property, improving aesthetics and alleviating blight.
Hilton Head is a unique and wonderful place to live with its miles of quiet and undisturbed beach, its ideal geographic location, its exceptional standard of living, and its people. Short sales/foreclosures and REO are still available; however, the better properties are always the first to receive bids.
