Forest Beach in Hilton Head Island is a three mile oceanfront strand of luxurious primary as well as vacation and second homes and villas, many of which are direct oceanfront and are rented on the short-term market. Tucked away between Shipyard Plantation and Sea Pines Resort on the Island’s south end, Forest Beach homes are located in one of the Island’s original communities with 1950s-era bungalows still remaining as these have proven to be quite in demand for purchase and/or rental. In keeping with the times this hot-spot area has seen a transformation in new construction and homes, many with six or more bedrooms, thus accommodating families of all sizes.
Properties in Forest Beach, that is, North Forest Beach and South Forest Beach, have access to some of the most prized beaches on the entire Island—wide, sandy, pristine Atlantic coastline—perfect for nearly every outdoor activity from bicycling, volleyball, sunning, running or just sunset strolls. Superb real estate is found in Forest Beach and most properties are within walking distance or a short bike ride to Coligny Plaza, where some of the best shopping, dining and entertainment on Hilton Head can be found!  Contact BillTrue.com for more information on these or any properties found in the Hilton Head MLS.

Coligny Circle's proposed pedestrian-friendly upgrades were given the endorsement from Head Town Council in a unanimous vote on Tuesday.  The Town will now enter into negotiations with the South Carolina DOT to take over ownership of portions of Pope Avenue as both North and South Forest Beach Drive feed into Coligny Circle. Ownership of these three arteries would then allow the Town to narrow lanes, reduce speeds, build curb extensions (thus slowing drivers), widen crosswalks and add special pavement, which would create an audible and visible aspect to drivers and pedestrians making them aware of crossings.
These road/footpath improvements are both aesthetically and safety-motivated. Speed reduction in that area is much needed; thus, converting it into a walking district, adding lighting, installing benches and planters, and general enhancements will draw more of our visitors to this island hub.  Homeowners in North Forest Beach and South Forest Beach will reap the benefits of this Town revitalization program, as will the business owners and beachgoers.

Lights, sound, action! Hilton Head Island has its own festival of lights:  The Dove Street Festival of Lights.  A tradition that began 19 years ago with one strone of lights now involves more than 50 households, families, friends, organizations and businesses.  Donations of money, non-perishable food items and toys are collected each year, benefitting The Deep Well Project, known for its charitable assistance throughout the island.

Property owners from Sea Pines, Palmetto Dunes, Hilton Head Plantation and all parts of the island and Bluffton cruise through North Forest Beach and down Dove Street to wonder at the lights that are strung from one side of the street to the other, through the fingers of ancient oaks and woven around the blooming camellias.  A fairy tale atmosphere with countless sleighs, Rudolphs, Santas, Joseph, Mary and the manger.

It is an all-volunteer effort comprised of good-hearted islanders who still believe.
