Oceanfront and situated high on the dunes of the white sand beaches is Folly Field. Unique in character and much smaller than the smallest plantation on Hilton Head Island, and with homes and condos to suite every taste, Folly Field was one of the first neighborhoods on Hilton Head Island to be developed. As in the 1950s, Folly Field is an ungated assortment of new, luxury, beachfront mansions and older, quaint bungalows. You can easily count the steps to the beach from any residence and, very probably, someone will call your name or greet you with a genuine smile as you traipse to the beckoning waves, laughing child in tow.

There are a variety of homes for sale, vacation rentals and beach houses on the market—each with a commanding story to tell of memories made in the pristine sands of this tiny resort community. There are two beach parks in Folly Field, one is accessible to Folly Field residents and their guests, and the other is the Islander’s park, accessible with an annual paid pass. Folly Field’s beach park has restrooms, a lifeguard on duty, a boardwalk, handicapped access, a playground, vending machines and a picnic area.

During summer, Folly Field’s perfect mid-island location lends itself to Harbourfest at Shelter Cove, where fun and entertainment abound with arts, crafts, live music, and weekly fireworks. Shelter Cove Marina, golf, tennis, shopping and dining are within minutes from Folly Field Hilton Head Island, as are the public schools, hospital and library.
