Don’t Miss the Hilton Head Island Seafood Fest

If you’ll be on Hilton Head Island later this month you won’t want to miss the Hilton Head Island Seafood Fest. This popular event is in its seventh year and is hosted by the David M. Carmines Memorial Foundation and presented by forkandfun.com and Hilton Head Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. This year the event is scheduled to take place from Sunday, March 30 through Saturday, April 5.

The seafood festival kicks off with a Crawfish Boil Party at Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks, 1 Hudson Road, from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 30. This event is an all-you-can-eat boiled live Louisiana crawfish and River Dog Brewing Co. Tap Takeover. Live music will be performed by the Lowcountry Boil Bluegrass Band. $15/person for all you can eat, $35/person for all you can eat and drink.

On Monday, March 31 there will be a Chef Collaboration Dinner with Clayton Rollison of Lucky Rooster Kitchen & Bar and Patrick Ward of Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks. A cocktail and appetizer reception begins at 6:30 p.m. with dinner following at 7 p.m. This 7 course dinner with wine pairings will be held at the Lucky Rooster Kitchen & Bar, 841 William Hilton Pkwy, Unit A, South Island Square. Price is $80/per person with a 60 seat limit.

Two of the Lowcountry’s foremost watermen, Christopher and Matthew Shoemaker, will take a few lucky islanders on a 2 Hour Water Excursion at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1 and Wednesday, April 2. The trip will include instruction on shrimping, oystering, clamming, and crabbing. Christopher and Matthew will demonstrate the skills required to “put food on the table”. After the work is done, guests will have their catch prepared at Hudson’s and will enjoy the fruits of their labor. Time might vary based on tide conditions. Pickup is at Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks, 1 Hudson Road. $35 per person includes a complimentary soft beverage or draft beer at the restaurant. Limited availability. Sunset “Omakase” a 10 Course Sushi Dinner Cruise Aboard the Tammy Jane will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2. Captain John navigates the picturesque waters surrounding Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge. Local oysters, fish along with favorites like sea urchin, lobster and more, will be served as the sun melts into the Intracoastal Waterway. Wine and sake will be provided by Ben Arnold Beverage. In case of inclement weather, the cruise will take place on Thursday, April 3. This event is extremely limited on space, so please reserve now. On Friday, April 4, several restaurants in the area will be serving up their specialties and other tasty cuisine from 5-8 p.m. at Shelter Cove Community Park, 39 Shelter Cove Lane, HHI. There will be live entertainment by Deas-Guyz and a Kids Zone. Come enjoy great food, beer & wine, and dancing. Admission is $6. Free for kids under 10.

The Hilton Head Island Seafood Fest will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at the Shelter Cove Community Park, 39 Shelter Cove Lane, HHI. This family friendly event features area restaurants/chefs serving up seafood specialties and other tasty cuisine for purchase, live entertainment by The Headliners, a Kids Zone, a silent auction, famous crab races, and more. Participating restaurants include Alexander’s, American Culinary Federation, Black Marlin, Bluffton Oyster Co., The Chart House, Cool Breeze, The Crazy Crab, Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks, Island Kettle Corn, The Old Oyster Factory, Pinot Gelato, Red Fish, Skull Creek Boathouse and Street Meet. Come prepared to dance! Admission is $6. Free for kids under 10. Food/beverages available for purchase.
